The renovation of this luxury terraced residence, located opposite Patacona Beach in Alboraya, is guided by a fundamental premise: to establish a calm, contemporary dialogue with its surrounding Mediterranean environment.

The intervention reinterprets two of the defining elements of Mediterranean architectural culture: light and the sea. Both become guiding principles throughout the project, shaping not only its aesthetic character but also its spatial organisation and functionality.

The residence has been redesigned to maximise natural light through large windows that blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, allowing the characteristic brightness of Valencia’s coastline to flow through the different rooms throughout the day. This emphasis on light is complemented by a carefully curated colour palette in which navy blue takes centre stage, evoking the nearby sea while bringing depth, elegance and character to the interiors.

The ground floor is conceived as the social heart of the home. Outside, two courtyards act as natural extensions of the interior, creating spaces for gathering that enhance ventilation, natural light and the direct connection with the Mediterranean climate. Inside, an open-plan layout brings together the living room, dining area and kitchen in a fluid arrangement, avoiding unnecessary divisions and encouraging an open, comfortable and flexible way of living. This floor is completed by a guest bathroom, discreetly integrated into the overall layout.

On the first floor, a central landing organises access to two bedrooms, a study and a bathroom. This area is designed for rest, work and everyday living, combining functionality with a calm, carefully considered atmosphere.

The attic floor is reserved for the principal suite, conceived as an independent and private space. It incorporates the main bedroom, an en-suite bathroom, a private terrace and a dressing room, creating an intimate, light-filled environment with visual connections to the surrounding landscape.

The joinery plays a particularly important role, providing the project with identity and precision. The combination of natural wood, lacquered finishes and designer ceramic tiles creates a rich, balanced and sophisticated material palette. Each finish has been carefully selected to enhance the sense of quality, warmth and timelessness, resulting in a residence that brings together elegance, comfort and Mediterranean character by the sea.
